Ingredients:

  • 8 oz white American cheese, cubed
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened and cubed
  • 1/2 cup whole milk or heavy cream
  • 4 oz diced green chiles (canned)
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

Instructions:

  1. Cube the white American cheese and cream cheese into small, uniform pieces to ensure they melt at the same rate.
  2. Combine the cubed cheeses and milk in a microwave-safe glass bowl or a small heavy-bottomed saucepan.
  3. If using a microwave, heat on high for 1 minute, stir vigorously, and continue heating in 30-to-60 second intervals until fluid. If using a stove, heat over low, stirring constantly until smooth.
  4. Fold in the diced green chiles and garlic powder, stirring until evenly distributed and the dip reaches a glossy sheen.
  5. Remove from heat immediately to prevent over-thickening.
