Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs cooked chicken thighs, shredded
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 pack (12 count) Hawaiian sweet rolls
- 1.5 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, toss the shredded chicken with the barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, and smoked paprika until fully coated and glossy.
- Using a serrated knife, slice the entire block of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally without separating the individual rolls.
- Place the bottom half of the rolls into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Spread the BBQ chicken mixture evenly across the bottom buns, then top with sliced red onions and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese layer.
- Whisk together melted butter, minced garlic, and parsley; brush the mixture liberally over the top of the buns.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15–20 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and the tops are golden brown.
